Social Outings, Companionship & Transport

Getting out and about can be a great way to make new friends and enjoy new experiences. We are here to support you to partake in recreational activities, to provide companionship and to help you get from A to B safely and on time. Below are ways we can help you to keep active in your community and we tailor these based on your interests and hobbies. Some ideas on ways to get out and about and how we can help you are listed below.

Domestic Assistance & Transport

We want to help take the hassle out of maintaining your home and daily life. We do this through providing assistance with domestic chores and daily tasks that help give you some relief whilst still getting things done. We can help with a range of different tasks that suit your needs and your desired outcomes. Some ways we can assist you are as follows.

  • Light meal preparation
  • Ironing
  • Shopping
  • Laundry
  • Cleaning – dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, making beds
  • Running errands
  • Meal planning
  • Dog walking
  • Gardening / Mowing of lawns

Health Management & Transport

Maintaining your health can be challenging depending on your circumstances. We understand this and are here to help you navigate this as well as provide assistance so that you remain happy and healthy. We provide support when it comes to managing both your physical and mental health, as well as coordination of treatment plans and appointments so that you can access the help you need. This includes but its not limited to;

  • Go on walks
  • Plan meals
  • Provide medication assistance
  • Coordinate allied health services (e.g dentist, physio, podiatrist, dietician, etc)
  • Attend group exercises – aqua-aerobics
  • Transport to medical appointments
  • Assist with pain management plans
  • Wound management

Personal Care

We provide support to assist you with daily personal activities which range anywhere from grooming through to hygiene. We tailor this service based on your unique needs so you are receiving tailored care the positively impacts you and helps you make them most of your funding.

  • Assisting with showering and hygiene care
  • Assisting with toileting
  • Attending to all aspects of grooming
  • Attending appointments for hair, nails, massage

Clinical Care

We are here to provide you with support for medical and health-related needs, such as nursing care, rehabilitation services, and therapy. We work with you to understand your specific requirements so that we can provide individualised care and support you in your own specific way.

Respite

Respite – Corella Health offers in-home respite services to participants where we assist individuals with various aspects of care in the comfort of their homes. These services are tailored to individual needs and desired outcomes

COMING SOON – Corella Health will be offering Respite / Short Term
Accommodation (STA) services within the Wagga Wagga region in the coming
months

Big Buddy Program

The aim of the Corella Health’s “Big Buddy Program” is to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth to reach their full potential by identifying enabling behaviours and engaging in activities that will steer them towards a positive and healthy future. The Program offers support to Wagga Wagga youth in Promoting Life Skills, Mentorship, Education and Improving Social Inclusion.

Our Indigenous youth participants will gain invaluable life skills and experience including

  • Food handling and preparation
  • Budgeting and money handling
  • Customer service and catering skills

Our mentorship program connects Indigenous youth with an older adult role model who can offer positive guidance and support which can lead to

  • Increased self-esteem
  • Increased confidence
  • Increased positive behaviours
  • Reduced At-risk behaviours
  • Goal setting
  • Future planning

We believe that a solid education will open the doors to future opportunities and we endeavor to
assist Indigenous youth with

  • Homework support
  • Support with awareness of and assist with traineeship / scholarship applications
  • Improving health literacy

The Big Buddy Program aims to improve social inclusion and interaction within Indigenous youth. To achieve this, we offer various support including:

  • After school activities
  • Sporting / Cultural events
  • Fun Days / Trips
